Brett Simmons, the director behind After Dark’s Husk, is getting back behind the camera for the latest incarnation of The Monkey’s Paw, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report.
Penned by Macon Blair (actor in Murder Party and the forthcoming Hellbenders ), the new film adaptation is based on the short story “The Monkey’s Paw” by W. W. Jacobs.
"The Monkey's Paw" (one of my favorite one-act horror plays) is about a couple who come across a withered monkey's paw that grants wishes. The only problem is the wishes are granted in horrible ways. The couple firsts wish for great fortune, which they get when their son is killed while working at a local factory and they receive a huge cash settlement from the owner. You'll definitely want to read the rest to fully appreciate the horror in this gem.
